ViamInvest has been founded by H. Mathiesen in order to develop and document the investment performance of a new and better quantitative asset management system for exchange traded value stocks. As a company ViamInvest's sole purpose is development and documentation of its proprietary investment system. To be sure, ViamInvest is currently a Danish single-person company (enkeltmandsvirksomhed) incorporated by H. Mathiesen. ViamInvest does not provide asset management for any funds. Nor is it authorized as a management company/investment advisory company.

The developed asset management system is based on long-only value investing in global and exchange traded stocks. The system is purely quantitative and this makes it possible to back-test its investment performance using historical data and thereby gather evidence on its potential return and risk before making any real investments. In other words, the system has validation and development advantages that are not possible when using a more traditional investment approach where the stocks ultimately are selected by the personal judgment of a portfolio manager.
